Watercolour Artist and Tutor Peter Bugh is exhibiting 40 of his paintings at the Oriel Ynys Mon starting 8th February 2010.

Although he lives in the quiet village of Spelhurst in Kent near the East Sussex borders, he has visited Anglesey three or four times each year for the past 40 years.

Most of his paintings are of the coastline which have taken a year to complete, working on site and from sketches and photographs in his studio.

He regards Anglesey as his spiritual home and has captured the moods and atmosphere of the island from perfect summer days with blue skies and calm seas to the stormy scenes.

“Its been a wonderful experience to study and paint the sea as opposed to the green rural scenes of Kent”. He has achieved this in two styles, firstly the traditional transparent watercolour and secondly the more vibrant, design like qualities of Gouache, similar to the old 1930’s railway posters.

Original and prints are for sale.

The Exhibition runs from 8th February 2010 to 20th June 2010 at the ORIEL YNYS MON, LLANGEFNI, ANGLESEY in the Long Gallery.
